Planning An Asheville Wedding

Planning an Asheville Wedding

Planning your Asheville Wedding is a LOT of work. There are hundreds of things to consider!

I’ve put together this page on Asheville Wedding Planning to help you to answer some of those questions and to keep you on the right track! 🙂

Free Printable Wedding Planner

As a professional wedding photographer, I’ve seen A LOT of weddings. I’ve also planned my own wedding recently and I know how chaotic it can be trying to remember all of the details going into your big day!

I’ve created this free printable wedding planner to guide you through all of the details of your wedding day! It includes over FIFTY pages of valuable information that can make or break your day!

Meeting with the Wedding Photographer

A pre-event consult, your meeting with Wedding Photographer, is set in place so that we get an opportunity to meet and talk about your wedding and expectations before the big day arrives.

We will talk about your timeline and how your schedule is planned, decide when we are going to do the family formals and if you are having a first look, what time we need to arrive, when we will be leaving, where we will meet, and all of the other important details we need to know.

Benefits of a First Look

Many of my couples ask me whether or not they should have a first look. If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering what the Benefits of a First Look are yourself.

In my professional opinion as a Wedding Photographer, I think they are an excellent idea. I love first looks. I know that they are a tad bit ‘nontraditional,’ but let me take a minute to explain the benefits of a first look.

Wedding and Family PhotographerBenefits of an Unplugged Wedding

What is an unplugged wedding?

An unplugged wedding is where you ask your guests to turn off their phones, cameras, tablets, and other mobile devices during your ceremony.

Here are some benefits of an unplugged wedding.

Feeding your Wedding Photographer (and other vendors)

Here is a simple rundown of how feeding your wedding photographer should work.

A wedding typically lasts 10 to 12 hours. If we take getting ready shots and are there all day, we try to eat a big breakfast before we get there, but that only lasts so long. We are often running around like crazy all day trying to cover the whole wedding, and don’t have time to snack or take a break.

How Many Hours of Wedding Day Coverage

One of our most frequently asked questions is: How many hours do I need my wedding photographer for?

This is a great question, and hopefully this article will help you find the answer! 🙂

How to Look Your Best on Your Wedding Day

Here are some tips on how to look your best on your wedding day.

Including, tanning, hair + makeup, shoes… and food of course!

Planning the Family Photos

If you want to go the more traditional route and forego the first look (which allows you to go straight to your reception), you are still going to need to allow for time for your family photos after the ceremony but before the reception.

I have some guidelines to help when it comes to planning the family photos after your ceremony but before your reception.

Should I Hire a Makeup Artist

You’ve made a big investment in photography (and possibly videography as well) to help capture your big day. You want to make sure you absolutely look your best.

Although, I’m sure you do a very nice job on your everyday makeup, I strongly recommend to hire a makeup artist for your wedding.

Why You Need a Second Photographer

As as a wedding photographer I recommend including two photographers – a main photographer, and a second shooter.

The second shooter is an additional photographer who is there to cover the wedding as well. We choose to have a second shooter for many reasons.

What We Capture On Your Big Day | Its Jen Again

What We Capture On Your Big Day

What We Capture On Your Big DayWe are with you from the time you start getting ready for big day into the night of your reception. What we capture on your big day includes: Getting Ready, Ceremony and Reception, Family and Bridal Party Portraits, Wedding Day Details, and all of the Special Moments throughout your day.

Our style is very candid/journalistic in order to tell your story as it happens. However, we do pose for family formals and bridal party photos. For most of the day, you’ll barely notice we are there, as we try to remain discreet. We won’t be all up in your face or being a distraction to you or your guests.

We cover all of the main events throughout the day and will get all of the many details that you worked so hard to put together for your big day. If there’s something in particular you want to make sure we get a lot of photos of, just let us know. We’re happy to accommodate you. If you want to get a not-so-formal photo with some friends during the reception, just pull us aside and ask us to snap a photo or two.

Just sit back and relax, because we’ve got you covered!

Do I Need a Meeting with Wedding Photographer

A pre-event consult, your meeting with Wedding Photographer, is set in place so that we get an opportunity to meet and talk about your wedding and expectations before the big day arrives.

Meeting with Wedding photographerWe will talk about your timeline and how your schedule is planned, decide when we are going to do the family formals and if you are having a first look, what time we need to arrive, when we will be leaving, where we will meet, and all of the other important details we need to know.

There is actually a whole packet that we go through together to make sure that everyone is on the same page!

If you have any questions for us, the pre-consult would be the perfect time to ask. This consult is also a good time to chat and get to know one another, especially if you don’t have an engagement session planned.

Ultimately, this is important so you will feel more comfortable with us on your wedding day.
